NEO O&E Council
The Northeast Ohio Outreach and Enrollment Council (NEO Council) is a coalition of more than 40 different organizations in Northeast Ohio that provide education and/or enrollment assistance for individuals and families interested in health insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace or the Ohio Medicaid program.
The NEO Council addresses a variety of issues that function systematically in order to reach the uninsured population in Northeast Ohio. These issues include: collaborative Council management; supporting the training and education of the region’s assisters from all agencies and organizations; using data metrics to improve outreach and enrollment efforts; coordinated outreach and enrollment activities; and utilizing shared marketing and communications tools and resources.
The Council helps facilitate enrollment events in the community and serves as a resource to provide basic education regarding the Affordable Care Act and new coverage options. Knowledgeable, trusted, and unbiased community assisters are available to serve the Northeast Ohio community. The United Way’s 2-1-1 First Call for Help is also a resource to connect individuals and families to local assisters. Additional information and the ability to schedule appointments online is also available at http://areyoucoveredohio.org.
CHAP serves as the convener for the coalition; provides staff support; hosts the NEO O&E Council meetings and conference calls to foster collaboration in the community; shares best practices and lessons learned; and ensures that assistance is coordinated through the Northeast Ohio region. The coalition is led by its leadership team of committee chairs and partners.
The NEO O&E Council meets on the third Wednesday of every other month from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. To be included on the distribution list, please contact Mary Gladys at [email protected].
